WHAT IS IT?
United for a Green Europe is a 24-months European Youth Together project that involves six organisations from five countries (Belgium, Cyprus, Ireland, Lithuania and Spain). The main aim of this project is develop the key competences of youth leaders and young people to be able to create participatory proposals for building a greener, more inclusive and sustainable Europe.
The main objectives of the project are:
‑To improve youth leaders’ and young people’s knowledge and understanding of environmental issues/challenges and sustainability;
‑To design practical education tools to strengthen sustainability and environmental awareness in youth leaders and young people;
‑To empower young people for active participation in the framework of the European Green Deal;
‑To build a space for debate and reflection between youth leaders, young people, youth workers, policy makers and experts, developing collective proposals for sustainable social transformation;
‑To create a network of organisations from five European countries that are aware of the importance of the active participation of young people in building a greener, more inclusive and sustainable Europe.
Duration of the project: 01/12/2023 – 30/11/2025 [24 months]
The main activities are:
‑First Coordination Meeting in Cyprus;
‑Meetings to present the Project;
‑Analysis of the learning needs of youth leaders;
‑Mapping and meetings with stakeholders;
‑Coordination Meeting between Experts in Ireland;
‑Creation and implementation of an Online Training Course: (a) Introduction; (b) Module 1: Leadership; © Module 2: Critical thinking; (d) Module 3: Sense of initiative and entrepreneurship; (e) Module 4: Environmental challenges; (f) Conclusions and Final Evaluation. It includes a first Multiplier Event in each country to disseminate the course, an online meeting to introduce participants to the online course and a face-to-face meeting in each country to evaluate the course;
‑Drafting, translation and final production of the eBook “United for a Green Europe: training materials”;
‑International Youth Leaders Meeting and Mid-term Coordination Meeting in Spain;
‑Creation, drafting, translation and production of a Guide for professionals in the field of youth;
‑Creation of workshops and implementation in each country;
‑Local debates among young people;
‑Drafting of participatory proposals for a greener, more inclusive and sustainable Europe;
‑Visibility and dissemination campaign among the local population for the improvement of the participatory proposals and creation of a video presentation;
‑Presentation of the proposals to local decision-makers;
‑Drafting, translation and final production of the eBook “Participatory proposals for a greener, more inclusive and sustainable Europe”;
‑Video “Participatory proposals for a greener, more inclusive and sustainable Europe”;
‑Presentation in Brussels (Belgium) of the proposals;
‑Editing and production of a final video explaining the project;
‑Second Multiplier Event in each country (except Lithuania);
‑Final Meeting and Conference in Lithuania.
