The Rural Hub hosted an energising youth workshop in Cavan
On 29 January 2025, The Rural Hub hosted an energising youth workshop in Cavan, bringing together 15 enthusiastic participants aged between 15 and 30. Facilitated by The Rural Hub trainers, youth workers, and volunteers, the session focused on sustainability, leadership, and critical thinking, while preparing the group for their upcoming trip and debate event.
The workshop began with a lively icebreaker and project briefing, sparking curiosity and questions about the planned activities. Through guided discussions, participants explored the environmental, social, and economic dimensions of sustainability and reflected on their potential as changemakers in their communities.
In small groups, they brainstormed creative proposals, assigned roles such as video production and travel coordination, and mapped out logistics for the upcoming debate workshop. The in-person format encouraged collaboration, idea-sharing, and teamwork, culminating in a reflection circle where participants shared key takeaways and commitments.
Interactive, inspiring, and highly productive, the workshop not only equipped young people with practical skills but also strengthened their sense of purpose and readiness to take action towards a greener and more inclusive future.
