Engaging Youth Leaders in the UxGE Project: A Step Towards Sustainability

Meetings with Stakeholders

On November 18, 2024, The Rural Hub convened a small meeting of youth leaders and stakeholders involved with the education and youth work industries, to inform them about the UxGE project more specifically, including a breakdown of the individual work packages and some of the activities carried out thus far.

While this meeting discussed UxGE’s work packages in a more holistic way than the first meeting, we still aimed to convey the importance of addressing sustainability topics with our young people more generally throughout. Participants were engaged throughout and expressed eagerness to continue to contribute to developments within the project, ensuring that we would have some returning attendees for future UxGE events. Most agreed that some of the more engaging elements of the project included the recent training rotation to Málaga, as well as the forthcoming presentations in Brussels.

Overall, the meeting was a resounding success and demonstrated the interest among youth work practitioners and youth leaders in promoting a new age of conscientiousness when it comes to sustainability. From a logistical standpoint, it was extremely helpful as it allowed The Rural Hub to gauge interest in some of the UxGE project’s future activities, allowing us to begin shortlisting candidates for upcoming events.
