Successful Stakeholder Meeting on Upcoming Activities in UxGE’s WP3: Implementation of Competences
On November 27, 2024, The Rural Hub convened a small meeting of stakeholders involved with the education and youth work industries, to inform them about upcoming activities during UxGE’s WP3: Implementation of Competences.
With a focus on presenting the hands-on workshops, local debates, participatory proposal creation, visibility and dissemination campaigns, eBook, and videos, a strong case was made for UxGE’s potential to impact sustainability policy across Europe. We aimed to use this opportunity, as with all our stakeholder meetings, to convey the importance of addressing sustainability topics with young people.
In addition to a short presentation outlining the project, a discussion on sustainability more generally followed. Participants were engaged throughout and expressed eagerness to continue to contribute to developments within the project, ensuring that we would have some returning attendees for future UxGE events. Finally, we engaged attendees in an outline of the specific activities that will be conducted throughout WP3: Implementation of Competences, listed above.
Overall, the meeting was a resounding success and demonstrated the interest among youth work practitioners and youth leaders in promoting a new age of conscientiousness when it comes to sustainability. Attendees were eager to get involved in the generation of participatory proposals, as well as the debates and workshops that will happen in 2025. Most of all, the opportunity to present sustainability projects in Brussels was received as an especially rewarding experience, and the professionals were keen to explore this.
