Environmental Youth Leaders – UxGE OTC Evaluation Event

On 28th October 2024, in Brussels (Belgium) Out of the Box international hosted the event: Environmental Youth Leaders – UxGE OTC Evaluation Event where the United for a Green Europe project (UxGE) was overviewed and further discussed the project’s future activities. This event had as a main aim to evaluate the OTC by receiving feedback from the OTC participants from Belgium, award OTC participants with their Certificates of Completion, as well as creating the space for those participating in the OTC to meet each other and create strong bonds.

Therefore, we took the opportunity during this meeting to facilitate team building/getting to know each other activities among the OTC participants, as well as present to participants the activities that will follow in the project implementation (workshops to create proposals, Brussels mobility etc.) to encourage, motivate and engage participants to be part in these following activities as well.

The discussion was concealed for participants to reflected on their own experience while undergoing the OTC, and how important youth involvement is in the conversation regarding the digital and green agenda, as well as how these priorities areas are intertwined to support sustainable cities with the goal of building a better future in Europe. The event successfully gathered the 12 Belgium OTC active participants.

Main takeaways of the event concern the friendly usage and design of the OTC: Participants found the content of the OTC inspiring and engaging as well as the platform user-friendly and intuitive; regarding the Content Quality: participants appreciated the quality of the information provided in the OTC, finding it particularly useful for event and workshop development; and finally, they are looking for more hands-on experience: participants consider more hands-on leadership activities would upgrade the training experience.

To conclude, and taking into account participants valuable feedback, we cherish all participants for their commitment with the UxGE project, their participation and completion of the OTC. Therefore, we awarded them with the Certificate of Completion, celebrated their success and encourage them to put into practice all the knowledge and skills acquired through the OTC in the following UxGE project activities.
